Everyone had somebody they thought they might lose that day. "was Anyone flying? Who do i know in NYC?" these thoughts raced through the head of an eighth grade boy trying to prove he was a man, but the anger and sadness flooded his mind breaking through that visage and presenting itself as droplets that rolled down his cheek. To this day the footage still cuts deep. To this day he would still stand to fight for the father who served in the navy the uncle who died in Vietnam the grandfather who fought in world war II and for the freedoms they represent. America is not perfect but that's only because were the ones that make it up. God bless America ..... We need it

sometimes the things we fear become the last remaining pieces of who we were and sometimes those pieces become more beautiful and powerful than the fear ever could have been.
Eastern state penitentiary was designed to strike fear into the hearts of its inmates, and im sure at its height it did the job quite well. Now its remains, mark the end of an era. an era when vaulted ceilings hand crafted wood molding and artisan iron work were the norm, but those times are long gone.

i literally pass this barn everyday
its less than a mile from my house but untill a month ago i never noticed it

i really dont know what the story with this one is
its a beautiful property
with a pond a barn and a beautiful old house
the barn is an avian paradise
close to fifty barn swallows in the bottom

In my time of unemployment

i have been to Texas twice
i have been to New York city
i have been to North Carolina
i have been to buffalo and Niagara falls
i have been to Massachusetts and Vermont
i have been to Atlantic city for a weekend
and this week ill go back to North Carolina to the outer banks
i have become a better photographer and graphic designer
i have made church tracts huge banners and done engagement photos
i have been to car shows, aquariums, and old forgotten prisons
i have been in the weddings of two close friends
i have ignored the signs in abandoned buildings and seen things most men never see
i have seen the Christmas lights in Philly and swam in lakes that froze my bones
i have stood stop frozen mountains i have had the sand between my toes
i have made some friends and lost some and made some friendships stronger
and now I will take this new step it scares me but that's a good thing
so all of you who said i was wrong to everyone who "warned" my girl friend
to everyone that talked about me behind my back
and to those that have and will slander the choices im about to make.
i ask this
what have YOU done in the last six months
and what have YOU done for your future

to those that have helped me see these things
to my partners in crime
to the friends and family that have supported me
even though it didnt make sense

I went geocaching with my family today.
it was me my dad my older brother Matt his kids and their dog Bella
it was a beautiful day and an awesome time.
it took us about two hours to find it (partially because me and Ethan got a little lost)

marsh creek

The state of Pennsylvania acquired the land that became Marsh Creek State Park between 1964 and 1978. Residents in the area were relocated including those residing in the farming village of Milford Mills the site of which was eventually innundated. From 1970-1973 construction cleared the valley of trees, structures and other obstacles. Following completion of the dam, the lake filled over the course of three years. Man id love to see the bottom of that lake. None the less here are the remnants and the fun we had.

in May 1863, Lee led his army through the Shenandoah Valley for his second invasion of the North, hoping to reach as far as Harrisburg or even Philadelphia and to influence Northern politicians to give up their prosecution of the war. The two armies began to collide at Gettysburg on July 1, 1863, as Lee urgently concentrated his forces there. Low ridges to the northwest of town were defended initially by a Union cavalry division, which was soon reinforced with two corps of Union infantry.On the second day of battle, most of both armies had assembled. The Union line was laid out in a defensive formation resembling a fishhook. Lee launched a heavy assault on the Union left flank, and fierce fighting raged.Despite significant losses, the Union defenders held their lines.On the third day of battle, July 3, fighting resumed on Culp's Hill, and cavalry battles raged to the east and south, but the main event was a dramatic infantry assault by 12,500 Confederates against the center of the Union line. United Airlines Flight 93 was a scheduled United States domestic passenger flight from Newark International Airport, in Newark, New Jersey, to San Francisco International Airport, in San Francisco, California that was hijacked by four hijackers as part of the September 11 attacks in 2001. Over forty minutes into the flight the hijackers breached the cockpit, overpowered the pilots, and took control of the aircraft, diverting it towards Washington, D.C. Several passengers and crew members made telephone calls aboard the flight and learned about the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. As a result, the passengers decided to mount an assault against the hijackers and gain control of the aircraft.

The plane crashed in a field in Stonycreek Township, near Shanksville, in Somerset County, Pennsylvania, about 80 miles (130 km) southeast of Pittsburgh and 150 miles (240 km) northwest of Washington, D.C., killing all on board including 40 passengers and crew and four hijackers. Many witnessed the impact from the ground and news agencies began reporting on the event within an hour. The plane fragmented upon impact, leaving a crater, and some debris was blown miles from the crash site. The remains of everyone on board the aircraft were later identified. Subsequent analysis of the flight recorders revealed how the actions taken by the passengers prevented the aircraft from reaching the hijackers' intended target, thought to be either the White House or United States Capitol. A permanent memorial is planned for construction on the crash site. The chosen design has been the subject of criticism, but the memorial is scheduled to be dedicated in 2011.

Of the four aircraft hijacked on September 11, American Airlines Flight 11, American Airlines Flight 77 and United Airlines Flight 175 being the others, United Airlines Flight 93 was the only aircraft that failed to reach its intended target because of the actions of its passengers.

Eastern State

The Eastern State Penitentiary is considered one of America's most historic former prisons. It was operational from 1829 until 1971 and is located on Fairmount Avenue between Corinthian Avenue and North 22nd Street of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Its revolutionary system of incarceration was the first to establish the policy of separate confinement, emphasizing principles of reform rather than punishment. Notorious criminals such as bank robber and Al Capone were held inside its unique wagon wheel design. When the building was erected it was the largest and most expensive public structure ever constructed, quickly becoming a model for more than 300 prisons worldwide.

within minuets of entering eastern state it became one of my favorite buildings
the decaying beauty inside of the Penn is unmatched by any other building ive ever seen
the Victorian era architecture has been left as crumbled and forlorn as the day it was rediscovered
the paint falls off the walls
the stucco is crumbling
and it blends the beauty with reality
but this was one of the most frustrating photographic experiences ive ever had
after five pictures .... my battery died
i was ticked
but im the only one to blame
i shall return
with more power and i shall attain more pictures

we went to new castle on a whim
we found William penns guest house
and some other sweet buildings
i happened to take some pictures near some grave stones
and that's when the creeper appeared
he snuck up behind me
with his creeper socks up to his creeper calves
and his creeper sweaty hair hanging over his creeper eyes
and breathing heavily he said to me and caleb in his high pitched squeeky creeper voice
"are you guys hunters"..........
we looked at each other
..... what.... uh ... no?
"are you guys ghost hunters" said the creepy creeper
oh... nooooo... no we are not ghost hunters
"oh well cool... just so you know this grave yard here is the most haunted place in all of new castle"
well thats neat.... thanks
"ok well i gotta go watch your backs....." said the middle aged ghost hunter as he took off in a sprint, head down crouched over short shorts and tucked in t-shirt flapping in the wind.
i looked at caleb and said cmon we gotta go check it out
he hesitated to go, only because he didnt want to be murdered by the creeper and his possible friends.
onword we trudged down cobblestone streets, the colonial buildings looming over us, creeping
through the dim light that was illuminated by the daunting street lamps.
finally we came upon the grave yard and we creeped up to the gate
i snapped a few pictures
then caleb started freaking out
he had seen something moving in the shadows
something worse than the ghosts and goulies that the creeper had boasted of
it was a skunk....
i looked over to the skunk and saw that the creeper was just feet away walking right towards the striped gas bag
and at that moment deep in my heart i smiled
i must say that i have never seen a middle aged nerd run so fast nor do i surmise that i will ever witness such a feat again ... it was simply beautiful
that was our cue to high tale it on home
and thus ended our trip to new castle
